We take great care choosing the packaging for all our plants as we want the plants that you receive to be as fresh and healthy as they are when they leave our greenhouse. Many of our plant packs are designed to fit through a standard letterbox which offers clear advantages. We send out all our plants at the optimum time for planting out or growing on so that you can be assured of great garden performance. We provide a clear instruction booklet with all our plants so, even if you are new to gardening, your plants will look their best. Take a look at our Gardening Information Centre for great growing tips from our Vernon Ladies so you can start preparing your garden before your plants arrive.
Typical plug plant size will measure between 6cm and 8cm from the base of the plug to the tip of the foliage depending on the variety. Mini-plugs are supplied in packs of 6, 12, 24, 36, 48 or 72 plants. They require a slightly longer growing on period in a greenhouse or on a windowsill but they offer excellent value for money.
Our plug plants come in a range of sizes from 21mm to 65mm wide and will typically measure 8cm to 12cm from the base of the plug to the tip of the foliage depending on the variety. A number of pack sizes are available in our plug plant range from individual plants up to packs of 20.

We always supply good quality, flowering-size bulbs, which means you’ll get the best displays. Our bulbs are supplied to you in their dormant state, or just beginning to shoot. Plant them out as soon as you receive them, or if this is not possible store them somewhere cool and dark until you are ready.
Many varieties such as hardy geraniums, roses, shrubs and trees are traditionally supplied as bare root plants. These have been field grown and are supplied in a dormant state with the soil removed and should be planted out as soon as you receive them. Once planted they are ready to burst back into growth as soon as the weather warms up.
These plants are sent out slightly later in the season as we have already grown them on in our greenhouse for you. You can therefore plant them straight out into your garden borders, patio containers or hanging baskets as soon as you receive them. Ideal if you don't have space to grow on smaller plug plants - or if you left it too late to place your plug plant order.
